Frequently asked questions

Where does RegionAlps run trains?

RegionAlps operates the main Valais line from St-Gingolph on Lake Geneva through Monthey, Martigny, Sion, Sierre and Brig, plus a branch from Martigny up to Le Châble and Orsières in the Entremont valley.

How often do RegionAlps trains run?

Between Monthey and Brig, trains run every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday. On the wider St-Gingolph to Brig stretch, the interval is closer to 60 minutes, so check the timetable if your trip starts near St-Gingolph.

What is the Saint-Bernard Express?

It is the branded name for the RegionAlps branch line from Martigny to Le Châble and Orsières, a roughly 25 minute climb into the Entremont valley used by travellers heading to Verbier or the Grand-St-Bernard region.

Do I need a separate ticket for my bike?

Yes. A bike travels on a RegionAlps train with the standard Swiss bike supplement in addition to your own ticket.
