LEB, the Compagnie du chemin de fer Lausanne-Echallens-Bercher, runs the regional train between Lausanne-Flon and the towns of Echallens and Bercher, in the Gros-de-Vaud district of canton Vaud.
Who runs the LEB day to day
Day to day running of the LEB, including ticket office reception, train operation and works planning, is carried out by tl (Transports publics de la region lausannoise) staff based in Echallens. The LEB's own governance sits with its Conseil d'administration together with the Conseil des communes. Several links on leb.ch lead to tl.ch pages for practical information, since the two networks share systems; don't be surprised if a timetable search or ticket purchase takes you there.
Buying a ticket
Tickets on the LEB work on three levels. Cantonal Mobilis tickets and season passes cover the LEB and the whole Vaud public transport network, priced by zone. National SwissPass products are also valid: the abonnement général (AG) gives unlimited LEB travel with no extra ticket, the half fare card gives 50 percent off Mobilis and other Swiss tickets, and the half fare PLUS works as prepaid credit with a bonus, aimed at frequent but irregular travellers. International tickets to a European destination have to be booked in person at the Echallens sales point; they are not available through the online tl shop.
Canton Vaud residents get a 50 percent reduction on the annual Mobilis season ticket, in any zone count: since summer 2025 for people under 25, and since January 2026 for those 65 and over. It can be combined with municipal support where a commune offers it. Family tickets are also worth knowing about: a Carte Junior or Carte Enfant accompagne, each CHF 30 per year, let a child aged 6 to 16 travel free with an adult holding a valid ticket, and a CHF 19 children's day card covers a one off outing without committing to an annual card.

Night trains
On Friday and Saturday nights, and on nights before a public holiday, the LEB runs night services. It's a genuine alternative to driving tired or paying for a late taxi and parking. Departure times are shown on the tl app, so check before you rely on a specific late train.
