World Heritage sites by train
A verified selection of 21 destinations covering 20 UNESCO World Heritage listings, each linked to a passenger station by a modelled walking route — not complete European coverage.
Distances are modelled estimates; a station link alone doesn't show whether the route is open, step-free or suitable for you.

Plan the last part of your journey
A modelled distance can help you compare station links, but it does not show whether a path is open today, step-free or suitable for you. Check visitor information and current access conditions for the site, station and route before setting out.
Dates show when a source or route record was checked. They do not confirm that visitor or walking access remains unchanged.
How walking distances are modelled
Each estimate follows a modelled walking route from the passenger station to the site entrance. It is an estimate along a mapped route, not a straight-line distance or an on-site measurement. The route may not reflect gates, temporary closures, steps, surface conditions, gradients or other barriers.
What this selection includes
This selection includes destinations with an identifiable entrance, passenger station and modelled walking route. It is not a census of World Heritage sites or a ranking of the easiest sites to visit. A site missing here may still be reachable by rail; it may be outside the current selection or lack enough information to map a route.
