Valladolid Campo Grande is the station for every Madrid train: Renfe's Avant, AVE, Alvia, Avlo and Intercity, and the low-cost OUIGO, all run from here to Madrid Chamartín-Clara Campoamor in about an hour. Valladolid-Universidad, one stop on towards Palencia, takes only local and regional trains.

Which station to use

Valladolid Campo Grande is on Calle Recondo and is open Monday to Saturday from 05:45 to 24:00 and on Sundays from 06:00 to 24:00. Every high-speed and long-distance train stops here, so use it unless your ticket names another station.

From the station to the Plaza Mayor

Campo Grande park lies beside the station, and the old centre, with the Plaza Mayor and the cathedral, is beyond it. The walk takes about 20 minutes. AUVASA city bus 2 leaves from the stop outside the station (Estación del Norte RENFE), heading for San Pedro Regalado, and calls at Plaza España and then Plaza Fuente Dorada, next to the Plaza Mayor. Going back, catch line 2 towards El Peral at the Plaza España (Bola del Mundo) stop; it stops on Calle Estación del Norte at the corner of Calle Recondo, beside the station. Line 9 also stops at the station and runs to Plaza España. A single ticket costs €1.50, paid on board in cash or by contactless bank card, or with the AUVASA PAY app.
