Lille has two stations about 500 metres apart: Lille-Flandres, the primary station in the city centre, and Lille-Europe, where Eurostar and many high-speed trains call. A ten-minute walk or a single metro stop links them, but they are not interchangeable, so know which one your train uses.
Choose your Lille station
TER regional trains serve Lille-Flandres, OUIGO high-speed trains use it (a few OUIGO services start at Tourcoing instead, a separate station further along metro line 2), and many TGV INOUI trains to Paris Nord leave from it. A few long-distance TGV INOUI trains start here too. The station address is Place des Buisses, and the metro is reached from inside the station or from the square outside.
Lille-Europe is the Eurostar station, with departures to London and Brussels. TGV INOUI trains to Brussels leave from here, and so do most direct TGV INOUI trains to Lyon, Marseille, Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. Some Paris Nord trains start here too, as does the local TERGV high-speed service to Dunkerque, Calais and Arras. The station is a short walk from the centre, beside the Euralille shopping centre.
The station printed on your ticket is the one to go to. A Lille-Europe departure never leaves from Lille-Flandres, even though the two are close together.
Between Lille-Europe and Lille-Flandres
On foot it takes about 10 minutes. From Lille-Europe, take the main exit, go down the escalators and walk straight ahead. The Euralille shopping centre is on your left and Lille-Flandres is just beyond it.
Metro line 2 is the alternative, and the two stations are consecutive stops on it. From Lille-Europe, where the metro is reached through Hall 2, Lille-Flandres is one stop in the Saint-Philibert direction.
Leaving for London, go to Eurostar Departures in Hall 4 at Lille-Europe and expect ticket, passport and security checks before boarding, so arrive at the time recommended on your ticket. Arriving from London, go upstairs from the platform to reach the main part of the station.
Trains to Paris
Direct TGV INOUI trains from both stations reach Paris Nord in about 1 hour 5 minutes and run roughly hourly, more often at peak times. Some TGV INOUI services that stop at Arras or Douai take between 1 hour 30 and 1 hour 50.
OUIGO trains from Lille-Flandres do not go to Paris Nord. They reach Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (the Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV station) in about an hour and Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy, the station for Disneyland Paris, in about 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 25 minutes. Neither is in central Paris, so for the city itself book a TGV INOUI to Paris Nord.
Getting into the city centre
Lille-Flandres is already in the centre. For Rihour, the next stop, take metro line 1 towards CHU-Eurasanté. By day the metro runs every 1 to 2 minutes on average and never more than 3 minutes apart. Late in the evening and at quiet times the wait can reach 8 minutes. On weekdays the first metro leaves Lille-Flandres at 05:12 and the last at 00:30. On Saturdays line 1 runs until 01:30, and on Sundays and public holidays it starts at 06:20 and ends at 00:30. No metro, tram or bus runs on 1 May.
A single ilévia ticket costs €1.90 and is valid for one hour from the first validation, with changes between lines allowed. From Lille-Europe the centre is a short walk: follow the route to Lille-Flandres above. Otherwise take metro line 2 one stop to Lille-Flandres and change to line 1. The Roubaix and Tourcoing tram lines also stop outside Lille-Europe, one stop from their terminus at Lille-Flandres.
Rail passes and reservations
An Interrail pass covers eligible trains in France, but the high-speed ones need a reservation. As of October 2026, TGV INOUI reservations are compulsory at €10 to €20 in either class. OUIGO high-speed trains are included in the pass, with a compulsory reservation at €10 to €20 and a single travel class. The local TERGV high-speed trains from Lille-Europe need a supplement on top of the pass, bought at the station ticket desk before you board. Other TER regional trains, including every TER from Lille-Flandres, need no reservation or supplement. Eurostar reservations are compulsory too. The pass does not cover Lille's metro, trams or buses.
