Which station to use

Amiens station is the one to use. It is 500 metres from the town centre. The ticket office closes at 19:30 (20:20 on Fridays, Sundays and holidays). The local buses call the stop "Gare du Nord", which means this station, not Paris Gare du Nord. Trains from Paris call at Longueau a few minutes before Amiens; stay on until Amiens.

From the station to the centre

The way into the centre runs west from the station along Rue de Noyon and Rue des Trois Cailloux, with the cathedral just to the north. From the Gare du Nord bus stop outside the station (quai A), Nemo 1 towards Etouvie and Nemo 4 towards Pôle Licorne reach Beffroi in 5 to 10 minutes. On the way back both lines call at Hôtel de Ville before returning to Gare du Nord (quai B). Nemo buses run from 04:00 to midnight, every 10 to 12 minutes on weekday daytimes and every 30 to 60 minutes on Sundays. A single ticket costs €1.65 from the machines at the main stops, from Ametis relay points or on the e-boutique; a bank card or phone also works.

The Hortillonnages boat trips leave from 54 boulevard Beauvillé, 10 minutes' walk from the station. The boats run from April to October only. From 1 October to 31 March the cathedral's tower tours run at 14:00, 15:00 and 16:00, closed on Tuesdays and during services, and cost €7.
