The former MTRX and MTR Express operation now runs under the VR brand. The Swedish company behind it is VR Snabbtåg Sverige AB, part of VR Group, which is owned by the Finnish state. VR's Swedish website also uses the service label VR Snabbtåg.
Where VR Snabbtåg runs
VR's direct long distance service is the Stockholm to Gothenburg corridor. The operator's route page says it offers up to 126 departures a week. Its destination page lists Stockholm, Solna, Flemingsberg, Katrineholm, Skövde, Herrljunga, Alingsås and Gothenburg as stops.
The stop pattern is the detail to check. Some departures also call at Kristinehamn, Karlstad or Trollhättan because of track work, while summer services can continue via Borås to Varberg, Falkenberg, Halmstad, Laholm, Båstad and Ängelholm. These are variations of the Stockholm to Gothenburg operation, not separate confirmed direct corridors.
