Koleje Wielkopolskie

Koleje Wielkopolskie is the regional passenger rail operator for the Wielkopolskie (Greater Poland) voivodeship, headquartered in Poznań. Its network extends into parts of the neighbouring Lubuskie, Kujawsko-Pomorskie and Łódzkie voivodeships as well.

Where the trains run

Destinations include Gniezno, Kutno, Konin, Września, Leszno, Wolsztyn, Ostrów Wielkopolski, Wągrowiec, Nowy Tomyśl and Zbąszynek, with a further connection to Krzyż Wielkopolski. Journeys can also be planned as a combined train-and-bus trip under the Wielkopolski+ scheme. It is a useful way to reach places without a direct rail line.

Tickets

Buy tickets through the operator's own online shop, at ticket offices, or on board; prices are in PLN. The timetable is adjusted periodically, most recently with a change that took effect on 30 August.

Bicycles

A passenger may bring one unpackaged bicycle onto a train for a fee, subject to free space in the rack, while a bicycle that is folded and bagged travels free as hand luggage. The bicycle fee is PLN 8.50, and a named monthly network season ticket for bicycle transport costs PLN 85.50. A free coupon for the bike space must still be collected at the ticket office or on the train, subject to availability. The rolling stock used by the company carries between two and six bike racks depending on the unit.
