Croatian Railways runs daily IC trains from Zagreb to Split in about 6 hours. In summer, ÖBB and MÁV add night trains from Vienna and Budapest.

Most trains to Vienna use Wien Hauptbahnhof, which handles over 1,000 trains a day, with a first-class lounge and U1 subway connections to the city centre.

Copenhagen by train: Hamburg in 4h 40m overland, Malmö in 35 min (4/hour), Stockholm via change at Malmö. Fares from €29 or SEK 299.

Warsaw is well connected by direct EuroCity trains from Berlin, overnight services from Vienna and Prague, and PKP Intercity high-speed EIP Pendolino trains on domestic routes. Seat reservations are mandatory on EIP and must be bought before you board.

Trains to Barcelona arrive mainly at Barcelona Sants, one of Europe's busiest stations and the main hub for domestic and international high-speed services.

Trains to Brussels: Brussels-Midi for Eurostar and Thalys from London, Paris and Amsterdam; Brussels-Central for easy city-centre access.

Dortmund Hbf handles all long-distance trains to the city. DB ICE fares from around €17; FlixTrain from around €7 on domestic routes.

Trains to Florence stop at Santa Maria Novella, centrally located and handling 160,000+ daily travellers. Fast links to Rome, Milan, Venice and beyond.

Trains to Kraków run hourly from Warsaw in 2.5 hours, from 29 PLN. Direct trains from Berlin, Prague, and Vienna. Airport train 17 minutes for 20 PLN.

Trains to Milan arrive at Milano Centrale for high-speed services. Rome, Venice or Florence from €22; Paris from €35 on Trenitalia, Italo or Swiss Railways.

Trains to Palermo cross the Messina Strait by ferry. The IC Notte from Rome takes around 11-12 hours overnight. Reservations are mandatory.

Trains to Poznań Główny (1 km from the centre): Berlin in ~2h40m (6–8 daily), Warsaw in ~3h (24+ daily). Prague requires a change — 7–9h total.

Renfe AVE, OUIGO, and Iryo serve the Madrid to Seville route from Santa Justa, with 20 or more daily departures and journey times from about 2h 20m.

There is no direct train to Sorrento from Rome, Florence, or Milan. All routes require a change in Naples, where you transfer to the EAV Circumvesuviana (around 65 minutes, €3.60) or the Campania Express (around 50 minutes, reserved seats). Interrail and Eurail passes are not valid on EAV services.

SJ runs daily trains to Stockholm from Copenhagen and Oslo. Snälltåget covers Hamburg and Berlin. All long-distance trains arrive at Stockholm Central.

Hamburg is one of Germany's busiest railway hubs, with fast ICE trains from Berlin in around 1 hour 50 minutes and direct connections from Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Stockholm. Most long-distance trains arrive at Hamburg Hauptbahnhof in the city centre.

Trains to Nice: TGV from Paris in 5h40m, with advance fares from around €25 in second class. Budget Ouigo services from €19. Trains arrive at Nice-Ville, close to the city centre.

Trains to Bordeaux arrive at Bordeaux-Saint-Jean, the city's main station for high-speed services. TGV INOUI from Paris Montparnasse takes around 2 hours 8 minutes. Ouigo offers lower fares from around €16.

Trains to Bratislava: Vienna in 56 minutes on the hourly REX8, with around 20 direct trains daily. Connections from Budapest (around 2h30m) and Prague (around 4h) also covered, with guidance on which station to use and how to travel with a rail pass.

Trains to Frankfurt: 1,100+ daily connections at Germany's busiest rail hub. ICE to Berlin in 3h53m, Munich in 3h30m, Paris in 3h45m.

Trains to Munich arrive at München Hauptbahnhof, a 32-platform hub with Deutsche Bahn ICE, IC and regional services, free Wi-Fi and luggage lockers.

There is no direct train to Dublin from Britain or continental Europe. The standard route from London is via Holyhead and the Stena Line ferry, with Irish Rail connecting the rest of Ireland.

Direct SNCB trains from Brussels reach Bruges in about 1 hour from around €15. From London, change at Brussels-Midi (3h 20m). No reservation needed on SNCB.

Direct trains to Glasgow from London in ~4h 30m (Avanti West Coast) and Edinburgh in under an hour (ScotRail). Advance fares from £12 Edinburgh or £28 London.

High-speed trains to Madrid reach 310 km/h. Barcelona to Madrid takes 2h30 to 2h45, with three operators competing: Renfe AVE, Iryo, and Ouigo from EUR 9. Atocha station for most arrivals.

Trains to Berlin by ICE, Nightjet, and European Sleeper. Journey times, fares from €17.90, Interrail pass rules, and BVG connections from Hauptbahnhof.

Trains to Budapest arrive at Keleti Station, 3 km from the city centre. ÖBB Railjet services connect Vienna in around 2 hours 40 minutes, with direct trains also from Bratislava, Prague, and beyond.

Prague is reachable by direct train from Vienna (4 hrs), Berlin (4 hrs 20 min), Munich and Budapest. Station on Metro Line C. Advance fares from around €15.

Frecciarossa and Italo reach Roma Termini from Naples in around 1 hour 10 minutes, Florence in 1 hour 30 minutes, and Milan in around 3 hours. ÖBB Nightjet runs overnight from Paris and Munich.

Eurostar connects London to Paris Gare du Nord in around 2 hours 16 minutes, with Standard fares from £39. TGV services link Paris to cities across France, Germany, and Switzerland.

London has 17 terminal stations and 20+ rail operators. Eurostar reaches Paris in 2 hours 15 minutes from St Pancras. Domestic advance fares from £2.25.
