Bordeaux-Saint-Jean station

All high-speed and long-distance trains to Bordeaux arrive at Gare de Bordeaux-Saint-Jean. It sits south of the city centre: around 20 to 25 minutes on foot, or about 10 minutes by tram.

The station has three sections that matter for travellers:

• Halle 1: Main entrance, ticket office, and First Class lounge.
• Halle 2: Left luggage, lost property, and platforms A to C used mainly by TER regional trains.
• Hall 3 Belcier: The Ouigo arrival and departure point at Bordeaux. If you are travelling Ouigo, use this entrance.

Tram line C runs directly from the station to the city centre. Tickets can be bought at the station or through the TBM app. Bus lines 5, 16, and 45 also connect the station to Place de la Victoire near the centre.

TGV INOUI

TGV INOUI is SNCF’s standard high-speed service and the fastest option between Paris and Bordeaux. Trains depart from Paris Gare Montparnasse and arrive at Bordeaux-Saint-Jean in approximately 2 hours 8 minutes on the fastest departures. Reservations are compulsory.

TGV INOUI offers second class and first class. First class includes wider seats, power outlets, Wi-Fi, and reading lights. Business Premiere adds access to the Grand Voyageur lounge at Montparnasse and priority boarding.

Ouigo

Ouigo is SNCF’s low-cost high-speed brand. Adult fares start from around €16, with child fares (ages 4 to 11) from around €8. Children under 4 travel free when seated on an adult’s lap.

Ouigo trains depart from Hall 3 Vaugirard at Paris Montparnasse, accessed from Boulevard de Vaugirard. This is a completely separate entrance from the main Montparnasse halls, and Ouigo departure boards and signage are separate from TGV INOUI. If in doubt, go to Boulevard de Vaugirard first and look for the Ouigo signs. Allow extra time on your first Ouigo journey.

At Bordeaux, Ouigo trains arrive at and depart from Hall 3 Belcier.

OUIGO ESSENTIEL includes one carry-on bag that fits in the overhead rack and one small personal item. Large luggage requires an additional fee. OUIGO PLUS includes seat selection, Wi-Fi, and additional luggage allowance for around €24.

Ouigo Train Classique

TER regional trains

Intercités

No night trains

Getting from Bordeaux-Saint-Jean

Tram and bus

Tram line C connects the station directly to the city centre in around 10 minutes. For the Old Town, take line C to Porte de Bourgogne and change to line A. For La Cité du Vin, take line C to Quinconces and transfer to line B toward Berges de la Garonne.
