Day trains: allow for a change

Deutsche Bahn and SNCF Voyageurs normally run a direct ICE from Paris Gare de l'Est to Berlin Hbf in just under eight hours. It has been suspended since the end of July 2026 because of a fault with the ETCS train protection system, and no restart date has been announced. For now the ICE runs only between Paris and Frankfurt. Change at Frankfurt or Mannheim to reach Berlin; there are up to nine connections a day, and journeys take about eight to nine hours depending on the connection.

Night train: one train through the night

European Sleeper's direct train leaves Paris Nord in the evening on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and reaches Berlin the next morning, about 16 hours later. It calls at Aulnoye-Aymeries, Mons, Brussels Midi, Liège and Hamburg-Harburg. In the other direction it runs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Until the end of October 2026, engineering work means the train stops at Berlin Gesundbrunnen instead of Berlin Hbf. Berlin Hbf is the usual endpoint outside this diversion. Use the station shown on your ticket for your travel date.

The ÖBB Nightjet no longer runs between Paris and Berlin; it stopped in December 2025.
