Strasbourg and Karlsruhe can appear as alternative change points in some itineraries, but they are less frequent and usually add time.

The scenic angle

The main Munich to Paris route is not particularly scenic. If views matter to you, look for connection options that route through Strasbourg. That path passes through the Rhine Valley and Alsace, with landscapes the direct TGV line largely misses. The trade-off is a longer journey and fewer departure times.
