Frequently asked questions

What is Keolis Blauwnet?

Keolis Blauwnet is the brand Keolis Nederland uses for its blue-painted regional trains around Zwolle, running the Zwolle to Kampen and Zwolle to Enschede lines. The blue trains let you switch between them at the same station without checking out and back in.

How do I pay for a Keolis Blauwnet train?

Check in and out with a contactless bank card, a phone with contactless payment enabled, or the new OV-pas through the national OVpay system. Without a subscription, you pay the standard second-class fare automatically after the trip.

What happens if I switch between a Blauwnet train and NS or Arriva?

Check out at your current operator's coloured post and check in at the new one: blue for Blauwnet, yellow for NS, and red for Arriva at Zutphen. On the shared Wierden to Enschede stretch, confirm which company's train you are boarding before you check in.

Are there discounts for regular Blauwnet travellers?

Two OVpay subscriptions cover bus and regional trains, excluding NS, in Gelderland, Overijssel and Flevoland outside Almere. Dal Korting Oost Trein en Bus gives 40% off in off-peak periods for €4.99 a month, while the free Voordeel Oost Trein en Bus caps monthly spending at €160.
