Service pattern

SJ operates the Stockholm to Oslo corridor. Depending on your date, SJ may offer a through train or an itinerary with one or more connections. Departures, train categories, stopping patterns and journey times can change with the timetable.

Karlstad and Arvika can be intermediate stops on the corridor, but neither appears on every departure. If you plan to get off there, make sure the stop is part of your itinerary.

Stockholm Central is the usual long-distance departure point in the city centre. Oslo S is the main city-centre arrival station and is also known as Oslo Sentralstasjon. A connection can add another station, so the itinerary is the reliable guide to your departure, interchange and arrival points.

For a connecting itinerary, the interchange station and the time between legs are part of the journey details. A through train keeps the journey simpler, while a connection can offer a useful departure when no direct service is available. Keep the complete itinerary with you rather than relying on the route name alone.

Tickets, reservations and luggage
