Direct all the way to Paris

The trains on this route are the former Thalys services, now branded Eurostar. They come from Amsterdam Centraal via Schiphol and pick up in Rotterdam roughly every hour from early morning into the evening, with a few two-hour gaps in the morning and around midday. After Rotterdam they stop at Antwerpen-Centraal and Brussel-Zuid (Bruxelles-Midi). Stay put. Paris Gare du Nord is the end of the line.

Boarding in Rotterdam

There is no check-in. Eurostar asks you to be at Rotterdam Centraal 20 minutes before departure, so you can walk straight to the platform. In Paris, Gare du Nord has metro, RER and bus connections for the rest of the city.

What tickets cost

Expect Standard fares from €35 one way, rising as the cheaper seats sell. You can change a Standard or Plus ticket free until an hour before departure, as long as you pay any fare difference. Want your money back? That is possible only until 7 days before travel, for a €25 fee. Premier tickets stay flexible until 2 days after travel. Most travellers will be fine in Standard on a trip this short.

Reservations for Interrail pass holders

The Global Pass covers the journey, but not the seat. Eurostar makes a reservation compulsory, priced at €32 in Standard and €37 in Plus between the Netherlands and Paris, and Plus needs a first-class pass. Each train has a limited number of pass places, so reserve as soon as your dates are fixed. If a train has none left, pick another departure or pay a regular fare. Reserving through Interrail adds €2 per person per train.

Weekend works in November and December 2026

On 14 to 15 November, 28 to 29 November and 5 to 6 December 2026, works at Mechelen in Belgium mean the Eurostar skips Rotterdam Centraal. Travel on another day if you can.

A Eurocity Direct or other train takes you from Rotterdam to Antwerpen-Centraal, sometimes with a change on the way, and you board the Eurostar there. Allow about 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours 30 minutes.

On 12 and 13 December 2026 the trains to Paris leave Rotterdam earlier than usual, and extra works can be added at short notice, so check the time for your exact date before you book.
