Eurostar trains run direct from Paris Gare du Nord to Rotterdam Centraal in about 2 hours 40 minutes, roughly once an hour.
One train, no change
These are the high-speed trains once sold as Thalys, now running under the Eurostar name. On a normal day they leave Gare du Nord roughly hourly from early morning into the evening, with the odd longer gap around midday. Stay on board at Brussel-Zuid (Bruxelles-Midi) and Antwerpen-Centraal. From Rotterdam the trains carry on to Schiphol and Amsterdam Centraal.
Boarding at Gare du Nord
You do not check in for this train. Eurostar asks you to be at the station 20 minutes before departure, which is easy to plan with the metro, RER and buses all stopping at Gare du Nord. At the other end there is only one stop to think about: the train calls at Rotterdam Centraal and no other Rotterdam station.
Fares and ticket types
Standard fares start from €35 one way. The cheap seats sell first, so a busy train can cost much more. Standard and Plus tickets can be changed free up to an hour before departure, paying any difference in fare. Refunds are possible only until 7 days before travel and cost €25. Premier, the top class, can be changed or refunded up to 2 days after travel. For a trip of under three hours, Standard is the sensible default.
With an Interrail pass
Do not board on the pass alone. With an Interrail Global Pass, every Eurostar needs a pass-holder reservation, and between Paris and the Netherlands it costs €32 in Standard or €37 in Plus. Plus is open only to first-class pass holders. Pass places run out on popular trains; when they do, you either move to another departure or buy a normal ticket. Booking through the Interrail reservation service adds €2 per person per train.
Weekend works in November and December 2026
Avoid these dates if you can. On 14 to 15 November, 28 to 29 November and 5 to 6 December 2026, works at Mechelen in Belgium mean the Eurostar does not stop at Rotterdam Centraal.
You change at Antwerpen-Centraal or Brussel-Zuid and finish on EuroCity or Intercity trains, sometimes with a second change. Allow about 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours 30 minutes.
Times are also adjusted on 12 and 13 December, and more works can be added at short notice, so check your exact date before you book.
