TGV INOUI is the easiest default choice for a fast, comfortable trip from Paris to Nantes.

These SNCF-operated trains use the high-speed line towards western France. They are the option to check first when you want the shortest journey time, a central Paris departure, and conventional long-distance comfort. SNCF Connect describes TGV INOUI as offering onboard Wi-Fi, power sockets, a bar car, and luggage space for two items up to 70 × 90 × 50 cm plus one hand item up to 40 × 30 × 15 cm.

OUIGO Grande Vitesse: Budget High-Speed

OUIGO Grande Vitesse is the low-cost high-speed option for Paris to Nantes.

OUIGO lists adult high-speed fares from 16 EUR, with child fares from 8 EUR. The tradeoff is a more stripped-back product: some options cost extra, and the cheapest ticket may be tied to a less convenient departure time or station. Even so, OUIGO Grande Vitesse can keep the journey close to TGV timing while cutting the fare on the right date.

OUIGO Train Classique: Slowest and Cheapest

OUIGO Train Classique is the slower budget option.

OUIGO lists adult Train Classique fares from 10 EUR to 49 EUR, with child fares capped at 5 EUR. The journey is much longer than the high-speed trains: OUIGO gives a range of about 3h35 to 4h07 depending on the service.

Choose it if the fare is meaningfully cheaper and you are not in a hurry. Skip it if you are connecting onward from Nantes or trying to maximise time in the city.

Paris Departure Stations and Nantes Arrival

Check the departure station carefully. Paris-Nantes trains do not all leave from the same place.

Many high-speed services use Paris Montparnasse, the main Paris station for trains towards western France. It sits at 17 Boulevard de Vaugirard in the 15th arrondissement.

OUIGO high-speed trains can also depart from Massy TGV. That station is outside central Paris, which can be convenient from the southern suburbs or the Orly area but awkward if you are staying in the city centre.

Using an Interrail or Eurail Pass

A rail pass can be useful in France, but Paris to Nantes is not a hop-on-at-will high-speed route.
