Frequently asked questions

What area does ODEG cover?

ODEG runs 19 regional and Regional-Express lines across Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Sachsen-Anhalt, with one line reaching into Saxony, covering about 1,671 kilometres of track.

Which ticket do I need for ODEG trains?

Inside one transport association's area, the local Verbund fare (such as VBB or ZVON) applies. Crossing between association areas usually calls for the nationwide Deutschlandtarif, and the Deutschlandticket monthly pass, €63.00 from 1 January 2026, also covers ODEG trains.

Can I buy a ticket for the whole day?

Yes. A Länder-Ticket covers a full day of regional travel within one federal state for up to five people, and the Quer-durchs-Land-Ticket does the same nationwide, both valid on ODEG trains in second class.

Can I buy a ticket on board an ODEG train?

Yes, at no surcharge, if the departure station had no ticket machine or the passenger reports to onboard staff right after boarding. Long-distance ICE and IC trains do not allow boarding without a valid ticket at all.
