Tickets, reservations and rail passes
For an ordinary journey, book the complete Ronda to Málaga itinerary through Renfe so both legs appear in one booking. Fare and seat terms vary by service and travel date.
A Spain or Global Interrail Pass can cover eligible Renfe travel under the Pass conditions, but the Pass itself is not a seat reservation. AVE, Avant and Alvia trains need a reservation with a Pass, while regional trains do not. The Renfe replacement bus needs a valid ticket, so check with Renfe before relying on a Pass for that leg.
Planning a return from Ronda
Ronda is a hard day trip from Málaga while a bus replaces the train. Check the last bus back to Antequera-Santa Ana before you go, and leave a sensible margin for the connection in both directions. If a delay threatens your onward service, speak to Renfe staff at Antequera-Santa Ana immediately and follow the conditions of your ticket or Pass.
