Bergen stasjon stands on the edge of the old centre, a walk from Bryggen, with the Bergen Line to Oslo and local trains up the valley to Voss.

Which station to use

Bergen stasjon, at Strømgaten 4, is where every Bergen Line train ends, and the local Vy trains from Voss and Myrdal arrive here too. It is in the centre: Torgallmenningen, the Fish Market and the Bryggen waterfront all lie to the north-west.

From the station into the centre

To walk into the centre, follow the light rail tracks along Kaigaten from the station to Byparken. Torgallmenningen, the main square, starts just beyond it. Walk down it to the harbour for the Fish Market, then turn right along the harbour for Bryggen. Fløibanen, the funicular up Fløyen, starts in Vetrlidsallmenningen, the lane that runs uphill from the harbour between the Fish Market and Bryggen.

For the airport, take Bybanen light rail line 1 from Nonneseter, the stop beside the station, towards Bergen lufthavn Flesland. Byparken to the airport takes 44 minutes. It runs from 05:45 every day, every 5 to 8 minutes on weekday daytimes and every 10 to 15 minutes in the evenings and on weekend mornings. A single costs NOK 51 for an adult. Buy it in the Skyss Ticket app, by SMS or from the ticket machine at the stop. The Flybussen airport coach takes about 20 minutes from Bergen bus station and stops outside the terminal; tickets are sold at flybussen.no.
