Frequently asked questions

Do I need a reservation to travel second class on Elron trains?

No. Second class exists on every Elron service, and Interrail or Eurail pass holders do not need, and cannot even get, a seat reservation for it. You board with a valid pass and take any free seat.

How do I book a first class seat on Elron?

First class reservation on Elron is compulsory and free, since the cost is built into the fare, but it typically cannot be arranged online or at a station counter. Travellers report booking instead by emailing Elron customer service several working days ahead with route, date, time and a screenshot of the pass, so confirm the current process on elron.ee before relying on it.

Which Elron trains have first class?

First class is only available on the longer diesel, long-distance routes out to places such as Tartu, Valga, Pärnu, Viljandi, Narva, Riisipere and Paldiski. It is not offered on the electric suburban trains around Tallinn.
