Interrail Pass covers 33 countries including Switzerland; Swiss Travel Pass covers only Switzerland but includes buses, boats and mountain railways.

~40% of European trains run late. Delays over 60 min entitle you to a 25% refund; over 120 min, 50%. You may also claim accommodation costs.

First class on European trains offers wider seats, extra legroom, quieter cabins, complimentary food and faster Wi-Fi — at about 50% more than second class.

European trains have no strict luggage limits on most services. Store bags overhead, under seats or in dedicated luggage areas — no check-in required.

Interrail is for European residents (including the UK); Eurail is for non-European passport holders. Both require proof of residency or nationality.
