The fastest direct [Zurich](<https://everyrail.com/switzerland/zurich/>) to Paris train takes 4 hours 4 minutes. A typical journey is about 4 hours 36 minutes, and six direct TGV Lyria trains run each day. Other options may involve a change or a different Paris station, so choose the itinerary that fits your arrival plans.

## Direct trains and route options

TGV Lyria is the straightforward choice when you want to stay on one train. The current schedule has direct departures from Zürich HB at 07:34, 09:34, 11:34, 13:34, 15:34, and 18:34. Times and frequency can change by date.

Depending on the service, the train calls at [Basel](<https://everyrail.com/switzerland/basel/>), Mulhouse, and either Belfort-Montbéliard TGV or Dijon. These are intermediate stops, not changes. If a direct train does not suit your day, a connecting itinerary may arrive at Paris Gare de Lyon or Paris Est; allow for the onward journey from the station shown on your ticket.

## Tickets and fares

Selected Standard fares start at CHF 47 when bought through SBB and include a seat reservation. TGV Lyria Standard fares start at EUR 49 or CHF 47. These are limited starting prices for particular trains and dates, not a fare available on every departure.

TGV Lyria has Standard, Première, and Première Signature classes. A higher class can add comfort or flexibility, but the benefits and change or refund rules depend on the fare. Tickets can go on sale up to six months before travel, so booking when your date opens may give you more choice.

Compare the complete fare, class, exchange and refund conditions, and named stations before paying. The fare and seller determine the final price and conditions.

## Stations in Zurich and Paris

Direct trains leave from Zürich Hauptbahnhof, usually shown as Zürich HB, in Zurich city centre. TGV Lyria boards there rather than at Zurich Airport. If you are coming from the airport or another train, allow time to find the departure board and platform.

Paris Gare de Lyon is the normal arrival for direct TGV Lyria trains. It has Paris public-transport and taxi connections for the rest of your journey. If your booking ends at Paris Est, plan the cross-city transfer before you travel and keep your accommodation address with your ticket details.

## Luggage, bikes, pets, and onboard details

TGV Lyria has no stated weight or quantity limit for luggage when you can carry it yourself and store it safely in the spaces provided. Keep aisles and doors clear. Folding or dismantled bikes can travel in the luggage space under current conditions; a full-size bike may need a different arrangement.

Small animals can travel in a closed bag or basket for the published pet fare. A larger dog must be muzzled and kept on a lead, while assistance dogs follow separate conditions. Select the relevant bike or pet option during booking so the conditions for your train are included.

## Train compared with flying from Zurich to Paris

Rail is a strong choice for a city-centre journey: the direct trip takes about four hours and avoids airport transfers. Choose it when staying on one train and arriving at Gare de Lyon suit your plans. Compare the full door-to-door time and total fare if you are also considering a flight.

## Before you travel

For your date, use SBB, SNCF Connect, or TGV Lyria to select the train and review its departure station, Paris arrival station, changes, journey time, class, fare conditions, and luggage or pet options. Keep the ticket offline and use the Zürich HB departure board for the platform on travel day.
