Most visitors going to central London finish at Euston and carry on by Underground or on foot. ## Trains leave from Northampton station Northampton station is on Black Lion Hill, near the town centre, about a 15 minute walk along Marefair and up Gold Street. It is managed by London Northwestern Railway, with a ticket office, lifts to every platform, shops and refreshments, and staff help throughout the day and night. Buy your ticket at the ticket office or before you arrive, and check the platform on the departure screens. Every train to London from here is direct. You stay on board until Euston, the last stop. ## About two trains an hour, direct, in an hour or so Trains leave about twice an hour through the day. The fastest takes 50 minutes and the usual journey is about 1 hour 3 minutes, so compare arrival times when you choose. Late services change more than daytime ones, so check any train after about 22:00 on the day you travel. ## Choosing the right ticket Advance tickets are the cheapest, but they are for one named train and cannot easily be changed. Off-Peak tickets are dearer and avoid the busy commuting hours, with Super Off-Peak cheaper still at the quietest times. Anytime tickets are the most expensive and are valid on any train that day.
