Origin [Naples]() Destination [Florence]() Main stations Napoli Centrale to Firenze Santa Maria Novella Country [Italy]() Take a direct Italo or Frecciarossa from Napoli Centrale to Firenze Santa Maria Novella. The quickest Italo takes 2 hours 42 minutes and Frecciarossa takes about the same, so allow around three hours. Choose by departure time and total price. ## The direct train is the easy choice Italo runs 22 trains a day from [Naples]() to [Florence](), from early morning to late evening. [Trenitalia]() adds its own Frecciarossa departures. Times and counts change by date. Some trains call at Napoli Afragola or at Roma Termini or Roma Tiburtina. That is still a direct train: you stay in your seat all the way to Florence. ## Use Napoli Centrale in Naples Most travellers should leave from Napoli Centrale, the main station in the city centre. Napoli Afragola is a separate high-speed station about 12 km north of Naples, so use it only if it is genuinely closer to you. Check the station printed on your ticket. In Florence, book Firenze Santa Maria Novella (Firenze SMN), the central station these trains use. Firenze Campo di Marte is a different station on the east side of the city. Choose it only if your hotel or onward journey is there. ## Fares and seat reservations Italo tickets for this route start at €23.90. That is a limited low fare, not the price on every departure, and it rises as seats sell. Italo and Trenitalia sell separate tickets, so check both for your day. High-speed tickets are for a named train with an assigned seat. Trenitalia builds the compulsory Frecciarossa seat reservation into the ticket price. Italo also gives you a seat with the ticket. Choosing a specific Italo seat is optional and costs a small extra fee, from about €2. ## Where to book ### Train tickets - Omio Omio connects you with over 1,000 transport providers - trains, buses, flights, and more - to simplify your travel planning.
