Direct high-speed trains from **Milano Centrale** reach **[Vicenza](<https://everyrail.com/italy/vicenza/>)** in 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours; Italo’s fastest trip takes 1 hour 40 minutes.

## Leaving from Milano Centrale

Milano Centrale is served by [Milan](<https://everyrail.com/italy/milan/>)'s M2 and M3 metro lines. Allow time to reach the main concourse, read the departure board and find the platform shown for your train. The station is large, and several high-speed services use it throughout the day.

## Trenitalia and Italo services

[Trenitalia](<https://everyrail.com/italy/trenitalia/>) runs Frecciarossa along the [Milan to Venice](<https://everyrail.com/trains/milan-to-venice/>) corridor, with Vicenza after Brescia and Verona. Individual trains can skip intermediate stations, and the corridor continues beyond Vicenza, so read the full itinerary before booking.

Italo runs direct high-speed trains from Milano Centrale to Vicenza. Italo trains call at Brescia, Peschiera, Verona Porta Nuova and Vicenza, but a given departure can have its own stopping pattern. Direct means you stay on the train; it does not mean the train is non-stop.

## Journey time and frequency

Allow around 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours for a direct high-speed journey. Italo’s fastest Milan to Vicenza trip takes 1 hour 40 minutes. Frecciarossa timings vary with the stopping pattern and stay in the same general range.

Italo runs seven Milan to Vicenza trains a day. The wider Milan, Brescia, Verona, Vicenza, Padua and [Venice](<https://everyrail.com/italy/venice/>) corridor also has frequent Frecciarossa trains. Not every one stops at Vicenza, so check the stops for the train you pick.

Slower Trenitalia regional services also run on the Milan to Vicenza line. They have a different stopping pattern, so use the complete itinerary for the departure you choose.

## Tickets, reservations and rail passes

Paid Trenitalia Frecciarossa tickets are tied to the date and departure you book, with the mandatory seat reservation made as part of the ticket purchase. Book the exact departure you intend to use. Italo tickets are also tied to the selected train, so do not assume another departure will accept the same ticket.

An [Interrail Global Pass](<https://everyrail.com/rail-passes/interrail/global-pass/>) covers Trenitalia Frecciarossa in Italy, but you must add a seat reservation, which costs €13 per journey. Trenitalia regional trains are covered without a reservation. Italo is excluded from Interrail's operator network, so pass holders need a separate Italo ticket if they choose that service.

Italo fares from Milan to Vicenza start at €11.90. The price rises as the train fills, so book early. Trenitalia fares depend on the train and fare type, so compare both operators before you book.

## Arriving at Vicenza

Vicenza station is connected with the historic centre. After leaving the platforms, follow the station forecourt towards the centre or use the local transport connections outside the station.

Infrastructure work is planned on the Milan to Venice line from 12 October to 18 December 2026. During that window, arrivals at Vicenza for affected services may be two minutes later than planned. Allow a little extra time if you are connecting onward.
