The Swedish company behind it is VR Snabbtåg Sverige AB, part of VR Group, which is owned by the Finnish state. VR's Swedish website also uses the service label VR Snabbtåg. ## Where VR Snabbtåg runs VR's direct long distance service is the [Stockholm to Gothenburg]() corridor. The operator's route page says it offers up to 126 departures a week. Its destination page lists [Stockholm](), Solna, Flemingsberg, Katrineholm, Skövde, Herrljunga, Alingsås and [Gothenburg]() as stops. The stop pattern is the detail to check. Some departures also call at Kristinehamn, Karlstad or Trollhättan because of track work, while summer services can continue via Borås to Varberg, Falkenberg, Halmstad, Laholm, Båstad and Ängelholm. These are variations of the Stockholm to Gothenburg operation, not separate confirmed direct corridors. ## How to book Book through VR's Swedish website and open the exact departure before paying. VR lists Fix, Flex, Plus and 1 Class Plus tickets, and its timetable page directs travellers to Trafikverket for same day departure information. Do not choose a train only by its departure time. Check the calling points when an intermediate town matters to your plan, because track work and seasonal services can change the route used by an individual departure. ## Where to book ### Train tickets - Omio Omio connects you with over 1,000 transport providers - trains, buses, flights, and more - to simplify your travel planning. [Check times & prices]() ## Frequently asked questions ### Is MTRX still operating in Sweden? The MTRX operation continues, but not under the MTRX name. VR completed its acquisition of the operation in May 2024, and the trains moved to the VR brand. The current Swedish operator site presents the service as VR. ### Who owns VR Snabbtåg? The legal company is VR Snabbtåg Sverige AB. It is part of VR Group, a passenger transport group owned by the Finnish state. ### Which route does VR Snabbtåg serve directly? The confirmed direct corridor is Stockholm to Gothenburg. The operator lists calls at Stockholm, Solna, Flemingsberg, Katrineholm, Skövde, Herrljunga and Alingsås before Gothenburg, with additional seasonal or engineering related variations on some departures. ### Does VR Snabbtåg run direct trains to other European cities? The operator's current official pages confirm the Stockholm to Gothenburg corridor. They do not establish direct VR Snabbtåg services to other European cities, so connecting itineraries should not be presented as direct operator corridors. ### Where should I check VR Snabbtåg departures? Check the exact journey on VR's official website before booking. For same day running information, VR directs travellers to Trafikverket. ## More operators in Sweden ### Train service - [Krösatågen]() Krösatågen is a regional train collaboration linking Hässleholm to Linköping and Halmstad to Kalmar.
