The regional R11 trains use Figueres, the station in the town centre. ## Which station to use Use Figueres-Vilafant for every Avant, AVE, Euromed and high-speed train to France. It stands on Avinguda Puig Grau in Vilafant, on the edge of town. Figueres, on Plaça de l'Estació, is served by the R11 regional trains to [Girona](), Barcelona Sants, Portbou and Cerbère, and it sits in the town centre. ## Trains from Figueres-Vilafant Times are as of October 2026. - **Barcelona Sants:** Avant trains take 55 minutes at best, and Girona is 14 minutes away. The first train leaves at 05:28 every day, but on Saturdays and Sundays that is the AVE to Madrid and the first Avant follows at 07:53 (Saturday) or 09:09 (Sunday). The last Avant leaves at 19:35 on weekdays and Sundays and at 19:08 on Saturdays. Expect about 15 departures on a weekday and about 10 at weekends. The last train from Barcelona Sants arrives at 23:58. - **Madrid:** the AVE to Madrid Puerta de Atocha-Almudena Grandes takes 4 hours 19 minutes to 4 hours 49 minutes. Six leave on weekdays, five on Saturdays and four on Sundays, the first at 05:28 and the last at 17:35. One of them, at 11:37, is the international AVE from Marseille. In the other direction six trains a day arrive from Madrid on weekdays, the last at 22:18. - **[Valencia]() and [Alicante]():** the Euromed at 09:09 reaches Valencia at 13:13 and Alicante at 15:40. A second Euromed leaves at 07:07 on weekdays and reaches Valencia at 11:20. - **France:** [Renfe]()'s AVE International leaves at 09:15 for Perpignan (22 minutes), Montpellier Saint-Roch (2 hours 5 minutes) and Lyon Part-Dieu (4 hours 5 minutes). The 17:32 goes to Perpignan, Montpellier and Marseille Saint-Charles, about 4 hours away. Trains from France arrive from Marseille at 11:34 and from Lyon at 18:21. Renfe's AVE to and from France does not run on Saturday 14 November 2026, and the 11:34 arrival from Marseille does not run on Sunday 15 November 2026. SNCF's TGV INOUI runs three times a day to Paris Gare de Lyon, leaving at 10:28, 16:19 and 17:26 and taking 5 hours 44 minutes to 5 hours 52 minutes, with stops at Perpignan, Narbonne, Béziers, Montpellier, Nîmes and Valence TGV. ## From the station into the centre The station is 1.5 km from the centre. TEISA's shuttle bus (Bus llançadora TAV) links it with the bus station next to Figueres station, stopping at La Rambla, Plaça del Sol and Carretera d'Olot. The ride takes about 20 minutes, a single costs €2, and buses run every day, timed to most trains, the first leaving the centre at 05:00. Taxis wait at the station. ## The R11 from Figueres The R11 runs between Barcelona Sants and Portbou, and some trains continue to Cerbère, just across the French border. From Figueres, Barcelona Sants takes 1 hour 54 minutes to 2 hours 11 minutes, Girona 31 to 39 minutes, Portbou 24 minutes and Cerbère 29 minutes. About 21 trains a day run each way on weekdays and 15 to 18 at weekends. The last R11 to Barcelona Sants leaves at about 20:49 and the last R11 to Portbou at 22:43. On weekdays the RG1 local trains add a train about every two hours to Girona and five a day to Portbou, the last leaving for Portbou at 23:01. No works are planned on the R11 into November 2026. Christmas and New Year times for the R11 had not been published by late October 2026. ## Tickets Buy Avant, AVE and Euromed tickets on renfe.com, in the Renfe app, at ticket offices or at the self-service machines. AVE tickets carry the passenger's name, so bring photo ID. Renfe allows payment on board only exceptionally, so buy before boarding. For the R11, buy at the station machines or ticket office, on renfe.com or in the Renfe app, and validate before boarding; a ticket is valid for two hours from validation. Barcelona metro-area Rodalies tickets are not valid on these trains. Book TGV INOUI on sncf-connect.com or at SNCF stations, up to six months ahead. ## Rail passes and reservations As of October 2026, Interrail lists these reservation fees: €4 for Avant, €10 in second class and €13 in first for AVE, €6.50 for Euromed and €25 (Elige) or €28 (Elige Confort) for AVE International. A TGV INOUI reservation to Girona and Barcelona is €35 from Paris and €25 from Lyon, Montpellier or Perpignan, and the TGV is on the Global Pass only. A One Country Pass Spain covers AVE inside Spain but not the trains to France. On the R11, some Media Distancia trains need a €4 reservation with a pass and some do not; Regional Exprés trains are €4 where a reservation is required. ## Dalí Theatre-Museum The Dalí Theatre-Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:30 to 18:00 from October to December and closed on Mondays, except 9 November and 7 December. It is shut on 25 December and closes at 15:00 on 24 December; its 2027 hours were not published by late October. Luggage over 35 x 35 x 25 cm is not allowed in, so a suitcase from the train will not get through the door.
