Most travellers depart from Coimbra-B and arrive at Lisboa Oriente or Lisboa Santa Apolónia, travelling by Alfa Pendular or Intercidades. ## Direct Trains Run Every Day CP operates direct long-distance trains between Coimbra-B and Lisbon on the main north-south rail corridor. The two services to know are Alfa Pendular and Intercidades. Both are direct, both have reserved seats, and both connect Coimbra-B with Lisboa Oriente and Lisboa Santa Apolónia. However, CP states that Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, and Celta trains all require a paid compulsory seat reservation before boarding. A pass alone is not enough to board.
