Trains to Brașov stop at Brașov station, on the north-east side of the city. RATBV line 4 runs from Terminal Gară outside the station to the old town.

## From the station into the centre

Line 4 starts at Terminal Gară and takes 16 minutes to Biserica Neagră, the stop behind the Black Church and a few minutes' walk from Piața Sfatului. On weekdays the first departure from Terminal Gară is 05:23 and the last is 23:24, with a departure every 9 to 23 minutes through the day. On Saturday and Sunday the first is 06:30 and the last is 22:15, roughly every 13 to 14 minutes by day. Going back, board at Livada Poștei, as the return run skips Biserica Neagră.

A single ticket costs RON 5 and is valid for 90 minutes on all urban lines. A 1-day Urban Pass costs RON 20. The driver does not sell tickets on line 4, so pay by bank card at the validator inside the vehicle, use the 24Pay app, or buy at the RATBV sales point or vending machine at Terminal Gară.

## Tickets

CFR Călători sells tickets on its website and in the CFR Călători bilete online app, up to 30 days ahead. Ticket machines at the station sell until 5 minutes before departure, take cards only and do not accept contactless.

Buy before boarding: a ticket bought on the train costs the on-board rate, RON 111.50 on InterRegio, RON 128.50 on InterCity and RON 59.50 on Regio from Bucharest Nord in second class. Second-class fares from Bucharest Nord are RON 68.50 on InterRegio, RON 78.50 on InterCity and RON 37.00 on Regio. A seat reservation costs RON 6.50 on InterRegio and InterCity and RON 4.50 on Regio, and the online price adds it.

Other companies, including Regio Călători, sell their own tickets, and a CFR ticket is not valid on them. Softrans charges RON 41.50 with a seat included. Transferoviar Călători and Astra Trans Carpatic charge RON 75 in second class, reservation included.

## Rail passes and reservations

As of October 2026, an Interrail Romania or Global Pass covers CFR Călători trains only. InterRegio and InterCity trains need a reservation, listed at €1.20 per train, and the night trains need one as well. RegioExpres trains cost €0.80 where a reservation is required, and Regio trains need none. A Romania One Country Pass covers only the Romanian part of the Budapest trains.
