Angers Saint-Laud is the station for [Paris](<https://everyrail.com/france/paris/>), [Nantes](<https://everyrail.com/france/nantes/>), Le Mans, Tours and Cholet, and for the TGV INOUI that run to [Lyon](<https://everyrail.com/france/lyon/>), Lille and Brussels without going through Paris. Angers Maître École, one stop away on the Le Mans line, has only regional trains.

## Which station to use

Angers Saint-Laud is on the Esplanade de la Gare and is where every TGV INOUI, OUIGO and Intercités train stops. Angers Maître École is the first stop after Saint-Laud on the line to Le Mans, 3 to 4 minutes away. As of October 2026 it has 17 TER calls a day in both directions on weekdays, 9 on Saturdays and 6 on Sundays and public holidays, and nothing to Paris or Nantes.

## From the station to the centre

The tram stop, Les Gares, is up the escalator from the main hall and out of the exit at the top. Lines A and C both stop there. Line C reaches the Ralliement stop, beside the Place du Ralliement and its theatre, in three stops, about 5 minutes; line A reaches Hôtel de Ville in three. The château is a 10-minute walk from the station. Express buses E20, E21 and E22 also run from the Gares Papin stop, opposite the station, to the Château stop in 3 to 4 minutes, Monday to Saturday only. The Cathédrale Saint-Maurice stands in the old town between the château and the Place du Ralliement.

As of October 2026, a single trip costs €1.70, lasts an hour and includes changes. Touch a contactless bank card on the black validator each time you board. One card can pay for up to five travellers, and the card holder's own trips stop costing more after €4.80 in a day. You can also buy from the machines at every tram stop, or use the M-Ticket in the irigo app and scan the QR sticker on board.

The château is open every day except 25 December and 1 January, from 10:00 to 17:30 until 30 April 2027 (16:30 on 24 and 31 December), and costs €11 in 2026.
